Deconstructing stuff

Just say you're hanging out in the deodorant aisle of the supermarket. As you do.

And just say you see 2 labels:

You (Byron, I'm talking to you) would probably go for Label 1.

Now I'm going to suggest something outrageous. I'm going to suggest you

> READ THE LABEL <

Why?

Because companies are very clever at making things LOOK natural and fun, while actually NOT being natural and fun at all.

Deo 1 might include all those cheap chemicals I listed here.
Deo 2 might not.

But Deo 2 didn't get their branding right because, frankly, that deo sounds like something my gran might use on an outrageous day.

Another example:
Deo 1 has a media campaign that targets young ppl. It tells them that all the planet's surfers – of water or snow or the internet – are using this deodorant.
  • They make the ads look awesome.
  • They partner up with music celebrities to sell the product.
  • They make the packaging look cute and adorable.
  • They suggest all kinds of stuff that is completely irrelevant. Such as: 'Ride the deo wave, dude'. (Sorry, what?)
All I'm saying is: use your grey cells.

It's all just branding. Hot air.
The big-ass companies just want to make money, and they'll do it however they can.
